Turkey and More in Malad

We loaded up the van headed east for Thanksgiving. We pretty much invited ourselves to my sister's house in Malad, Idaho. We only stayed 2 nights but we packed our time full of fun. Of course dinner was fabulous. Christie says it was her first time cooking the bird but you couldn't tell. It was so yummy! The kids didn't eat too much since there was so much to do. They played in the wood pile, trying to rub sticks together to make a fire. Poppa to the rescue! He got the flames going and then it was a mad dash to gather up the dried grass and weeds to make the flames jump into the sky. They chased the cats around and fed them the appetizers we thought they were eating. Dean also got Uncle Troy's motorcycle out of the garage and then the real fun began. My first post was about the motorcycle Dean brought home a few months ago. You have to read that to appreciate this. Micaela was a bit nervous. We finally got her to explain that she was afraid of going off the side of the road, which would put her at the bottom of a small hill. Jackson yelled "wahooo" up and down the road and over the hills.
We couldn't get him off. This may be the most fun this kid has ever had.
This is the greatest picture of Jackson I think we've ever had! Liz was nervous at first but warmed up to the idea and had some smiles for us. The kids who weren't on the bike went for walks with Nana. Once we got the bike put away the boys all got their guns out and we had some target practice. We shot .22 rifles and some handguns I don't know much about, one was called the hand cannon, one was a 9mm from my dad's years as a police officer. I did hit some cans with the rifles but couldn't quite control the other ones. The kids even took some turns. That night the kids played together so well and later fell asleep so easily that us adults were able to sit around the table and eat pie and banana bread and play cards for hours and hours. We had so much fun and hated to leave but the Broncos were playing Friday and there's not much that can keep us from those home games. Thank you Christie for letting us come and for so many fun memories.
If my kids have it their way, every Thanksgiving will be in Malad. Play Hard, Sleep Hard.

Looks like fun! Don't you love how well kids sleep after days like that?

That IS the coolest picture of Jackson...total enjoyment. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. (Although we did kinda miss you.)

That site you referred me to did the trick..I've got 2 colums now. Thanks. I'll have to play around with them, to find a good balance of not too busy, but just right. :o)
