We had so much fun Saturday!
The Broncos had a great, family-friendly event
so of course we were there!
It helped that the word FREE
showed up twice in the flyer.
FREE parking (a first!)
and FREE entrance.
Can't lose!
They had food vendors and bounce houses set up north of the field.
But the highlight was the activity on the
Smurf Turf!!!
For 1 hour before their final spring scrimmage
the Bronco players would be on the field
running drills with young Bronco Fans.
Over the speaker system we heard:
"Parents, please wait on the sidelines for your kids.
We only want kids on the field."
How cool is that~
for the kids anyway?
Here's J working on his tackling skills.

Here's J working on his tackling skills.
He's got to be one of our coolest players ~ going by the hair at least.
Little L would have NOTHING to do with those big boys,
especially since Mommy and Daddy couldn't hold her hand.
She found her own fun.
Here's M working on tackling as well.
She didn't do as many drills on account of her wandering around for the first 20 minutes
trying to gather courage to ask for autographs.
She did get 3 of them, if you count Buster.
M running back to us on the sideline after getting Kirby Moore's siggy.
We begged her to get a few that WE wanted but it wasn't to be.
At the end of the hour Coach Pete (sigh)
called all the kids to center field for a chat.
I don't have a picture of this because I could barely see him
through the sea of small people
AND L had taken over use of the camera.
He asked them how many work really hard at school.
Most raised their hands. Yeah right.
He asked them how many of them could say that
their bedroom was really clean and tidy right now.
Many raised their hands. Yeah right.
Then he explained how Broncos believe that to be great at football
you have to try to be great at everything,
even school and taking care of your personal things.
"You have to give your all and try really hard at everything you do
and you'll succeed."
(sigh)
After Coach's speech we split up. The boys went to the scrimmage game
and the girls went shopping for a baptism dress for M!
Says M: That was THE BEST DAY EVER!!!
Thank you Broncos for such a wonderful experience for our kids.
We love you even more...if that's possible!
