Zoo Day

(Jackson is acting like the tiger is eating his arm)

We took advantage of the ONE day of Spring Break with a clear sky forecast and packed a picnic and headed to the zoo.

The three oldest acted like the pros they are and led us here and there to the animals they wanted to see the most.

Little man has had a love of animal books lately and loves to look at them and make their sounds, so I was anticipating a very excited and fascinated toddler.

Don't count on it mom.

Our first stop was the mighty Lions. The big daddy lion was lying fairly close to the fence facing us. The big kids loved trying to make him roar (which we've heard once and was THRILLING. AMAZING. CHILLING.). I held Levi up so he could see the lion and to my surprise he leaned waaaaaaaaay back away and averted his eyes. No likey!

Same with the tigers.

Especially true with the petting farm goats, who are eager to lick little fingers. They really freaked him out!!

He was much more comfortable with the inanimate fun things at the zoo.

He even thought this plastic Komodo Dragon was running loose in the zoo and going to eat him until I knocked on it's head and Jackson jumped on it. Then he was willing to approach it.

Great adventure!

Say, in that last picture, little man is looking a whole lot like big man at that age. :o)
