I meant to get pictures at school but they got back late from a field trip and had to eat and run through their parts of a play at the same time. It seemed weird to walk around the room at that time taking pictures.)

We don't do "friend" parties every year,
this year Micaela had a family party - us and her grandparents.

This was unexpected.
She had asked for candy for her birthday.
She likes to have a little stash,
and really it's mostly to share with her friends before and after school.
I didn't want to just hand her a bag of candy,
so we made a family candy-gram birthday card for her.
As she read our message, her emotions started to bubble over.
She choked up a bit and covered her face a bit and then cried.
Sweet thing!
So then Mom and Grandmas all had wet eyes
and tissues were passed around.
She had asked for candy for her birthday.
She likes to have a little stash,
and really it's mostly to share with her friends before and after school.
I didn't want to just hand her a bag of candy,

It usually goes something like:
~Chocolate cake with pink frosting and sprinkles.
~ White cake frosted with a dinosaur theme.
~ McQueen
~A flower.
This year Micaela drew me diagram!!!
No joking.
Layers of this and cheesecake and that and oreos, in this order, and on and on......
This thing was a beast.
It usually goes something like:

I did make the decision today that future birthday cake orders may be abbreviated or modified.Oh man do we love our Micaela.
