We had a great time getting ready for our Trunk or Treat night.
"Is it time yet?" "No."
"Is it time yet?" "No."
"Is it time yet?" "No."
"Is it time yet?" "Alright."

They were mostly excited that they each would get face paint.
Well, mostly the girls were.
Here are the members of our family who like to think up, figure out, and go through the hassle of wearing a costume (even if that just means gross, false teeth):

When Micaela first informed me that she was going to be Frankenstein this year I was VERY skeptical since that really meant that I had to figure it out. But she insisted, "Mom, I know he's a boy but I want to be scary, not cute and pretty." We were pleased with what we came up with. She's really a Frankenstein - Zombie mix. It worked.
Lizzy just wanted to be beautiful and this riding-a-unicorn costume I picked up last year on clearance and LOTS of make-up fit the bill. Add a bag full of candy and we had one happy camper on our hands.
Jackson the Pirate.
There was a gold, hoop earring at one point.
I'd like to say that he hated wearing jewelry but the truth is that the clip-on part was just too tight to wear comfortably. Before we opened it and tried it on, the earring was the part he was the most excited about. Well, the dagger really, then the earring.
Levi the Lion.
Roar!
(Nici ~ does this costume look familiar to you? 5 years ago or so? For a different baby boy? Thank you!)
He was SUCH a good sport. He didn't even fuss about the hood or the paw mittens.
Trunk-or-Treat began at 6:00. By 6:30 most trunks were out of candy
and most bags, pillow cases and pumpkin buckets were pretty heavy.
Plenty of chocolate for Mom so we were clear to leave.
