Last month Micaela's school had a read-a-thon. Micaela saw a bouncy ball full of glittery water and a giant candy bar in the prize basket and decided whe would give it her all to win. In 2 weeks she read over 700 minutes! Yeah Micaela! She didn't win the prize basket but when she reached 300 minutes she was entered in a drawing and won the coveted, glittery, bouncy ball. She read a little less after that, after all, she'd already won what she wanted!

Holy cow! That's a lot of reading... quite possibly more than my whole elementary career. (Reading wasn't my favorite thing.)

My kids have a thing for those glittery water balls too.
